量規(guī)是專用量具，而且是沒有示值的定值量具，所以使用量規(guī)進行檢驗要特別的注意。
使用前注意事項
檢查標記，量規(guī)上都有標記，要檢查量規(guī)上的標記是否與被檢驗工件圖樣上標注的標記相符，如果兩者的標記不相符，則不要用該量規(guī)。
檢查質量證明文件，量規(guī)是實行定期校準的量具，經校準合格或綠色標識，如果有，而且能證明該量規(guī)是在校準期內，只有這樣才能使用該量規(guī)。
檢查配對情況，量規(guī)是成對使用的，即通規(guī)和止規(guī)配對使用，有的量規(guī)把通端T和止端Z制成一體，有的是制成單頭的，對于單頭量規(guī)，使用前要檢查所選取的量規(guī)是否是一對，是一對才能使用。從外觀上看，通端的長度比止端長三分之一或二分之一。
檢查外觀質量，量規(guī)的工作面不得有銹跡，毛刺和劃痕等影響使用的外觀缺陷。
使用中注意事項

檢驗孔時，如果孔的軸心線是水平的，將塞規(guī)對準孔后，用手稍推塞規(guī)即可，不得用大力推塞規(guī)，如果孔的軸心線是垂直于水平面的，對于通規(guī)而言，當塞規(guī)對準孔后，用手輕輕扶住塞規(guī)，憑塞規(guī)的自重進行檢驗，不得用手使勁推塞規(guī)，對止規(guī)而言，當塞規(guī)對準孔后，松開手，作塞規(guī)的自重進行檢驗，塞規(guī)不要在被檢孔內轉動。

Check the appearance quality. No rust, burr or scratch on the gauge working face may affect the appearance defects.
Cautions in Use

When inspecting the hole, if the axis line of the hole is horizontal, after aligning the plug gauge to the hole, push the plug gauge slightly by hand, and do not push the plug gauge vigorously. If the axis line of the hole is perpendicular to the horizontal plane, for general rules, when the plug gauge is aligned to the hole, hold the plug gauge gently with the hand, and test with the weight of the plug gauge, do not use the hand to make the plug gauge. Push stopper gauge vigorously. For stopper gauge, when the stopper gauge is aligned with the hole, release your hands and check the weight of the stopper gauge. Stopper gauge should not rotate in the hole under test.
